Admissions consultation
We are consulting on admissions policies for the schools within the Trust for 2027 - 2028. Please see the below policies.
The changes are in the criterion order for situations where there is oversubscription, reflecting an approach that favours families and attendance at schools within the Trust, following feedback from parents in previous years, and the Board's own priorities for its communities.
These admissions arrangements will be reviewed and then determined by the Trust Board in February 2026, the Admissions Authority, for September 2027 intakes.
Any comments are to be sent to consult@abingdonlearningtrust.org
Proposal to Reduce John Mason School intake to 150 from 180 pupils
In line with a number of schools in the area, John Mason School is proposing to reduce its intake to 150, due to the lower numbers of pupils in the primary phase requiring secondary places.
This change is proposed to take place from 1 September 2026, and we have liaised with Oxfordshire County Council on this. They have agreed that this reduction would cause no disadvantage to local pupils.
